THE MODI
The Meaningful Object Disposal Initiative was a service designed to dispose of objects that people could not throw away but could no longer keep due to difficult emotional associations. The objects transformed into "artifacts," which became part of an informational display about the MODI. Housed in plexiglass boxes built for this purpose, the objects and their stories could be observed until the month long "holding period" was over and they were destroyed or repurposed, as per the requests of the participants.
