OFFICE SPACE

New communication technologies both expand and contract our work and personal spaces. For this performance, I built an environment where I could physically perform the activities I engage in with my telephone - sending and receiving messages, looking up information, taking pictures, maintaining my calendar, checking subway routes, etc. I wanted to explore the disappearance of the physical activities and temporal/spatial boundaries of "the office," which coincides with the impending end of skeuomorphism.  As my own office worker, I attended to all the commands I request of my phone, and experienced plenty of "downtime" in between, harking back to the pre-Internet days of office boredom.
